Hip-hop star Linda Mkhize, better known as ProKid has passed away at the age of 37.

ProKid’s family has confirmed the news in a statement that he suffered a severe seizure while visiting a friend in the Johannesburg CBD on Wednesday night.
According to several reports, the 37 year old artist was declared dead on the scene by paramedics just after 8pm.
“The legendary SA hip-hop artist affectionately known as ProKid … passed away on Wednesday. He suffered a severe seizure attack while visiting friends and paramedics were called in to assist. They did their best to revive him to no avail and called his time of death at 8.38pm,” – the statement reads.
According to TimesLIVE, ProKid’s family asked for privacy while they dealt with the tragedy. “Further details will be furnished as soon as his family has gathered.”
Thousands of fans including fellow musicians paid their heartfelt tributes to ProKid on Twitter.
