Lawyer has confirmed that actress Khanya Mkangisa was arrested on drinking and driving charges. Her lawyer confirmed to TshisaLIVE that the incident occurred three weeks ago.

In a video making rounds on social media, The Queen actress Khanya Mkangisa can be seen getting arrested by the Johannesburg Metro Police. She was arrested on drinking and driving allegations.
Khanya’s attorney, Idemudia Uriesi of PI Uriesi Attorneys, confirmed to TshisaLIVE that the video is real and that the actress was arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving three weeks ago.
“It is not from this morning, it is from three weekends ago. She was arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving.”
Uriesi said it is not known who recorded the video and shared it on social media.
“I do not see her doing anything wrong in the video, other than standing up for herself. People should give the process a chance and remember that at this stage it is just an allegation.”
Uriesi said that Mkangisa had appeared in court and that the matter was still under investigation.
Earlier this year, it was Sunday Sun reported that Khanya Mkangisa who plays Akhona in The Queen Mzansi was arrested and spent a night in jail after a high-speed chase incident in Johannesburg.
According to the paper, Khanya Mkhangisa was arrested after she bumped into BMW belonging to Katlego Mphuthi who also stays at the same complex as The Queen actress. Katlego pressed charges of failing to stop after an accident and Khanya was was tracked down by police.
