Mr Luu and MSK release sophomore album with lead single titled Sunday Chant

Eastern Cape born, childhood friends turned powerful, dynamic duo to be reckoned with in the music industry, Mr Luu & MSK, have just released their sophomore album, All We Ever Wanted Was An Ear, with lead single titled Sunday Chant featuring Zola Nombona.

Mr Luu & MSK’s lead single Sunday Chant featuring Zola Nombona has already had a great reception on the streets and debuted on Metro FM last Saturday where they were crowned as “producers of the night”.

“The initial beat for Sunday Chant ended up on the latest Mafikizolo album so we had to quickly make a new beat for it and it turned out to be an even better version if we can say so ourselves! It’s a beautiful song and we believe the country will enjoy it,” shares Mr Luu & MSK.

The dynamic duo further adds: “We featured the talented Zola Nombona who many know her for her acting roles in the TV space. We were playing around in studio and were so shocked to hear how beautiful her voice was. We immediately knew we had to have her jump on this track. It was a very honourable moment and the studio vibe was hella fun!”

On collaborating with Mr Luu & MSK, Zola Nombona expresses: Working on this track with Mr Luu & MSK was like stepping into an enchanted world of music. It was a match made in music heaven. It was a great team effort and all parties left their hearts on the track.”

Known to produce hit singles such as “Lento” for Professor featuring Speedy (as Point 5 – Mr Luu & MSK, Heavy K, Q Bass and DJ Tea), a song that became South Africa’s number one dance song in 2011 and broke multiple records, Mr Luu & MSK’s All We Ever Wanted Was An Ear album is testament to their magic touch and their 14 track offering is already pegged to carry some of the country’s next big hit singles.

“It’s funny how we have been looked at and been treated as the underdogs in this industry when we have won a lot of people awards, made hit records for a lot of prominent artists and have worked with a lot of legendary artists in SA. For us, this album will prove that we belong here, and we are here to stay. It will also solidify our spot in the music industry and the album will show how much we do our research in terms of where we are as an industry, how hungry we are for this, how different we are, how skilled we are and the tremendous amount of versatility we have,” shares Mr Luu & MSK.

Three years in the making, Mr Luu & MSK wanted to take their time and study the industry and show people how unique and special their project is.

“All we ever wanted was an ear, that’s all we ever wanted, and now that the album is done we hope people will take their time and hear us out. Working on this album has been nothing but a blessing We would like to thank our team and everyone that has been with us through it all. The journey has been so amazing words can’t even describe how thankful we are,” expresses Mr Luu & MSK.
