‘Reapplication Pending’ R350 Grant Status

The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is a temporary provision of assistance intended for persons in such dire material need that they are unable to meet their or their families’ most basic needs. SRD Grant is paid to South African citizens or permanent residents, who have insufficient means and meet certain criteria.

The SRD grant is administered by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and the R350 SRD grant is paid after permanent social grants.

Sassa has given its Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant beneficiaries an answer to their many questions regarding the ‘Reapplication Pending’ Sassa grant status.

Sassa ‘Reapplication pending’ means that there was no application or reapplication received by the agency.

What should you do when you have received the ‘Reapplication Pending’ Sassa application status? According to Sassa, you will need to submit your Sassa application for R350 using the SRD Sassa website.

Here’s What You Should Do About ‘Reapplication Pending’ SRD Status

  • Step 1: Go to srd.sassa.gov.za to apply online
  • Step 2: Search for the ‘Reconsideration status check: May 2020 to March 2022’ tab.
  • Step 3: Click on where it says ‘click here to check reconsideration status’.
  • Step 4: You will be asked to provide your ID number and Mobile number and click ‘Send PIN’
  • Step 5: Follow the prompts to complete the reconsideration of your payment.

Please note reconsideration processing for the period May 2020 to March 2022 has been completed and no new applications will be considered for this period.
