What You Should Do About ‘Reapplication Pending’ SRD Status

Sassa SRD grant recipients around the country will be collecting their February Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments. However, some Sassa SRD grant applicants whose SRD grant application was rejected by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), will not be able to access their Sassa SRD grants. According to SRD status check site srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status, “Reapplication Pending” SRD status is the grant application status provided to applicants in South Africa. This means that Sassa has not received an application or reapplication for your SRD grant.

If you see “Reapplication Pending” SRD status message, as an applicant, you must submit a new SRD grant application or reapplication.

Applications for the SRD must be sent on one of the following platforms:

  1. SASSA website –  https://srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Email – [email protected]
  3. WhatsApp: 082 046 8553 (send a WhatsApp message to this number. Make sure to include your name, surname and ID number in the WhatsApp message. You will then receive a message which will detail the next steps you need to follow.)
  4. USSD line: Dial *134*7737# and follow the prompts
  5. GovChat: https://govchat.app/login\
  6. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/govchat.org

Here’s What You Should Do About ‘Reapplication Pending’ SRD Status

  • Step 1: Visit the SRD Website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za
  • Step 2: Search for the ‘Application for Reconsideration’ tab.
  • Step 3: Click on where it says ‘click here to apply for reconsideration’.
  • Step 4: You will be asked to provide your ID number and Mobile number.
  • Step 5: Follow the prompts to complete the reconsideration of your payment.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced on social media that they are currently experiencing some delays in the reconsideration requests processes.

“Clients who applied for reconsideration are advised of the delay in addressing the reconsideration requests. SASSA is currently working to resolve this. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused” – Sassa said
