The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the dates for SASSA payments for January 2023. Here are the January payment dates.

January SASSA Payment Dates

SASSA payments are made on the second day of every month. If the second day falls on a weekend or public holiday, the grant will be distributed on the following working day. Older person and the associated grants are paid first followed by disability grants and child grants.

SASSA has said that the SASSA payments dates for social grants do not include the R350 social relief of distress (SRD) grant.

The R350 grant is paid over the course of the month. There is no fixed payment dates for Sassa SRD grants. Beneficiaries are urged to wait for an SMS from the agency saying the grant is ready for collection at Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, selected OK Foods supermarkets, Pick n Pay or Boxer stores.

Here is the January payment schedule for social grants:

  • Older Persons/ Pensioners Grant: Tuesday, 3 January 2023.
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 4 January 2023.
  • All other Grants: Thursday, 5 January 2023.
