DJ Sabby joins Gauteng Department of Community Safety in #Asifikeni Campaign

DJ Sabby is officially one of the ambassadors of the #Asifikeni campaign conducted by the Gauteng Department of Community Safety. The YFM Drive Time Host will be one of many South African Celebrities to show their support for the campaign. #Asifikeni is a campaign that aims to create enormous awareness on Road safety and responsible drinking within communities specifically amongst the youth.

The project was initially developed to reduce the fatalities on the road that are often caused by irresponsible drinking and reckless driving, as the number of these incidents are alarming within the community. The Department of Safety and Community aims to work with parties involved in the campaign to ensure that we take extra precautions when it comes to road safety.

This project is to protect the future of our nation which is the youth and to ensure that Road Safety is a priority within our communities. DJ Sabby will be working alongside JMPD, Gauteng and Black Brain Pictures to ensure that the campaign reaches the masses.

“We often get approached as personalities to do several campaigns and this one stands out for me as the aim is to promote being safe on the road and just being safe period. The campaign #Asifikeni aims to reaffirm the message to young people that your life is worth a lot more than you think. I will be putting together a song with some of the biggest names in music to help spread the awareness and people can let me know who they would like to hear on the song.” Expresses DJ Sabby

“I have been in studio listening to several beats and just cooking up some music for 2018 and when the department reached out and asked for me to make a song that drives the message to the young people of the province of Gauteng. I took it as a sign that it’s time to drop music again. I’m calling out on artists to reach out should they want to be part of the song. I can confirm that I will be working with hitmaker producer, Tweezy on the song. We should be making artist feature announcements soon as we don’t have a lot of time to make the song and drop a video. Fans can also suggest via my social media handles as to who they would like me to contact for the song.” Expresses DJ Sabby

“We are excited to join the Asifikeni campaign to help bring about awareness amongst the youth within our communities, by becoming a part of this project it is a great honour not only to serve the community but to also add our efforts and resources to make the campaign a success. We as Black Brain aim to create a relatable platform for the youth to discuss the issue of responsible drinking and road safety.” – Mandla N

“It was important for us to create a credible and sustainable campaign that will tackle the issue of road safety and reduce the number of fatalities on the road. This project will aid the youth in taking extra precautions when making use of our roads not only for them, but for other road users as well and for the safety of our communities. We are looking forward to the continuous success of the campaign” – Government representative.
