Skeem Saam’s Cornet Mamabolo opens village library

Skeem Saam's Cornet Mamabolo

Thabiso Cornet Mamabolo better known as “T-bos” on Skeem Saam is one of the most loved actors in Mzansi. The Skeem Saam actor has achieved his dream by building a library in his village at Maripathekong, GaMolepo in Limpopo.

Cornet told SowetanLIVE that he and the team from the Cornet Mamabolo Foundation are set to launch the library on Friday. They have already received the shelves for the books and the library will be ready by tomorrow.

The library, which took Cornet three years to complete, is situated at Boshega Primary School.

“We needed books that will speak to the youth and will be fascinating for the actual community, because we are dealing with a community that is not used to reading, or used to going to the library.”

Mamabolo partnered with the University of Limpopo, the National Library and a few people to find books that would be fitting for the library.

“Education is the basis of everything. I don’t think I would be where I am and speak the way I am speaking if it was not for education. The idea is for them to get a taste of it,” he said.

Lesley Musina and son robbed at gunpoint

Lesley Musina and his son

Actor Lesley Musina and his son are grateful to be alive after escaping unharmed during a robbery at the Total garage on Beyers Naudé, Windsor West.

Lesley took to Instagram to explain what happened and how the robbers got away.

“I just got robbed at gunpoint by 4 men at the Total garage on Beyers Naudé, Windsor West around 20:00 tonight. The assailaints made off with my cellphone, we always appreciate surviving unscathed and unharmed. What was most disturbing for me is that my 4 year old son witnessed the whole terrible ordeal.”

After Lesley Musina bought chocolate and was making his way back to the car, he realized he was surrounded by four men.

This is what happened: “I went to Total garage to go buy chocolate for my son who had been nagging me about it. I hardly ever go to that garage but was too lazy to go to the 24 hour Spar up the road as I didn’t wanna stand in a long queue. So I got to the garage, left my son in the car watching cartoons on my other phone. I didn’t want to go into the shop with him as I wanted to quickly buy and leave.”

They took his cellphone and manhandled him, all this time, his son was screaming.

“I bought the chocolate and went back to my car, I was wearing a jacket with a pull over hat (hoodie) as it’s cold. My peripheral vision wasn’t that great because the pullover was blocking my vision. As I opened my door, I heard a man’s voice yelling: “Lie down”, the next thing I was being manhandled. At first I thought it was someone I know pulling a prank on me. I looked up and saw 4 men, wearing hoodies and bandanas covering the lower part of their faces. They took 1 of my cellphones which was in my pocket. At that time my son was crying and screaming helplessly. The 4 men then fled, I chased them for a few meters but realised, I can’t leave my son behind. I then went to my car and tried to chase them.”
