Glen Lewis calls Tbo Touch a hypocrite

Touch HD and radio legend Glen Lewis have parted ways barely a year into a partnership that seeks to transform radio.

Touch HD founder and former Metro FM presenter Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe confirmed by saying “Yes, he is leaving. Bear in mind we are a year-old company that is in a new space, and I call it digital. In digital, we have to conduct surveys from our listeners.”

Touch wished Glen Lewis well after the legendary DJ announced his departure from Touch HD. He said “salute the Legend Glen Lewis Radios Hall Fame without a doubt. Your contribution to the industry is unsurpassed and I’m grateful to be counted amongst those who’ve shared the mic with you and this is just chapter 2 of our historical journey!”

However, Glen Lewis shared a different perspective, calling Tbo Touch a hypocrite and coward.

“This dude though makes me laugh singing my praises all of sudden coward, hypocrit shut up already Tbo Touch,” – Lewis said on Twitter.

According to IOL, Molefe said there was a huge difference between being a radio personality and a content creator. He said that when they conducted a survey on what Touch HD “connectors” wanted, they found there was a need to get more digital-savvy radio personalities.

“We learnt that digital is not personality driven, it is engagement driven. People look into how many times you tweet, how many times you respond. The digital space is engagement driven. Digital teaches you to be a content creator. The people that you hear on air are content creators, not DJs,” Tbo Touch said

Glen Lewis will be replaced by Microwave Boys and Yaya for Urban News on The Breakfast Wave from 7am-10am.
