South African actress Sophie Lichaba, formerly known as Sophie Ndaba made rounds on social media after 5fm radio DJ Thando Thabethe posted a photo of her after an interview.

The former Generations actress found herself trending on Twitter, some people even claiming she had died. A few weeks before that, Lichaba was body-shamed for her weight loss.

Sophie has decided to share a video on Instagram dismissing death rumours and making it clear that she is not sick.

“Happy Friday Angel’s!! What an interesting month it has been! Im Alive I’m not in ICU and yes can the slow peeps understand Living with Diabetes is NOT a Death sentence. Im living a fabulous life. Standby soon for my eating living healthy blog. Cant wait #ImWithSophie (sic),”  – she captioned her Instagram video.

South African actress Sophie Ndaba, who is famous for acting as Queen Moroka in the SABC1 soapie Generations, is not dead, she is alive.

The fake news about her death started after an unknown person took to Twitter to announce that actress Sohie Ndaba has died. Some people also stated that the news was was allegedly announced by SABC3 breakfast TV show – Expresso.

However, the breakfast show responded to the rumour saying that they did not report about Ndaba’s death rumours.

“The rumours about Sophie Ndaba’s death is false and we did not report on any news about her on the show today (sic),” – they said.

Former Generations actress Sophie Ndaba took to Instagram to address people expressing shock at her appearance. Photos of Sophie Ndaba weight-loss have been making rounds on social media.

The South African celebrity Sophie, addressed the issue saying that her obesity landed her in the hospital, that is the reason she had to lose weight because of her battle with diabetes.

On Friday, she wrote an emotional Instagram post, saying: “I’m sending my love to all my friends and family who are concerned about my weight and health. Living with Diabetes doesn’t mean my life must stop. It means I will fight to live and encourage those who already are suffering from this deadly disease. Help others prevent it.”

She further stated that she started her weight loss journey because she was obese and it affected her health.

“I made a confident choice to start eating well and loose weight. Yes it’s been a year of healthy eating and I’m proud of where I am. I want to encourage those who are struggling with obesity and say don’t worry what people think even if they will think you’re dying. Being overweight landed me in hospital. I made my weight loss choice. I’m proud of it!”

Former Generations actress Sophie Ndaba has proved to many South Africans that eating healthy and exercising can help you achieve your goal.

Sophie, who is best known for her role as Queen Moroka on the SABC1 soapie Generations, has undergone a huge body transformation  (weight loss) but it is more of a lifestyle change.

In an interview with DRUM Magazne last year, the 46-year-old revealed that she is diabetic, so this gave her an awakening. It made her realise that she has children and responsibilities towards her kids.

Sophie has been going to the gym and swimming since she was diagnosed with diabetic. She also revealed that she’s cut down on sugar, carbohydrates and alcohol.

The wedding-planning guru, who has been following her diet said that “eating healthy is seen as being fancy but it actually helps”- Sophie said that time.
