TikTok is a video-sharing social networking service owned by ByteDance, a Beijing-based company founded by Zhang Yiming in 2012. TikTok is used to create short lip-sync, talent and comedy videos. In 2017, the app was launched for Android and iOS for markets outside of China.
It also offers a community filled with music videos that you can watch from your Android and iOS devices. Various music videos on TikTok are shot by ordinary people who want to share their talents and creations with other people.
You can search across different categories or browse through the newest feeds. Most South African celebrities like to upload videos of themselves singing, talking or dancing.
Method 1: Browsing through the Feed on TikTok
Step 1: Open the TikTok app. Go to your Homescreen and click on the app
Step 2: Go to Home feed. Browse through the Home feed once the app is launched. If it doesn’t appear, alternatively, you can navigate to the Home feed by clicking the house button on the bottom toolbar. You will be able to see a music video loads automatically.
Step 3: Browse the feed. The Home feed features the latest music videos uploaded by ordinary users. The music videos will load and play. To go to the next video, swipe up your screen.
Step 4: Watch a music video. If you find an interesting video, stop swiping and watch the video. To pause the video, tap on it. If you want to unpause, tap on it again.
Method 2: Viewing Trending Tags
Step 1: Go to Trending Tags. At the bottom toolbar, tap the globe button or magnifying glass. It will take you to a screen where you can find more music videos. To see the trending tags used in the music videos, scroll down.
Step 2: Select a tag. The list of trending tags are shown next to each hashtag icon. Click on one to see the most popular tag for videos.
Step 3: Watch a music video. The videos with a particular tag are shown in thumbnails. Swipe down and up to browse through various music videos on TikTok. Tap on the video to pause or tap again to continue playing.
