Robert Marawa returns to SABC

It has just been announced at a press conference this morning at the SABC that award-winning South African sports journalist and television and radio personality, Robert Marawa, will return to radio at the SABC.

In what is said to be an unprecedented move, SABC COO Mr Chris Maroleng unveiled that Robert Marawa will not only return to one radio station but will have his sports radio show simulcast on both Metro FM and Radio 2000.

Somizi named first male ambassador for woman’s makeup brand

South African choreographer and radio personality, Somizi, has become the first man in Africa to be a brand ambassador for women’s make-up brand, Black Opal. 

The Metro FM host couldn’t wait to share the exciting news, he took to Instagram where he said he broke boundaries as he becomes the first African male to be the face of ladies make-up.

“Iconic moment. Boundaries have been broken. Ladies and gentlemen I’m honored to announce @blackopalsa personality The first male to represent a make up brand. #blkopalxsomizi when God shows up. He shows off,” – shared Somizi on Instagram.

Speaking to SowetanLIVE, Mhlongo said: “Being a face of a cosmetics company will give me a chance to bring a smile to their faces.”

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) activist and co-founder of the gay-friendly Feathers Awards, Thami Kotlolo, said: “The LGBTI is excited about Mhlongo’s achievement. It is groundbreaking, if you take into consideration that cosmetics are huge within the LGBTI community.”

Khanyi Mbau is upset with Lasizwe for lying about buying a house

Lasizwe Dambuza’s sister Khanyi Mbau is upset with her little brother for allegedly claiming to have bought house in Sandton.

Speaking to DRUM magazine, Khanyi “I‘m very upset at him for doing that. He lied – the apartment is a rental. He told DJ Fresh he bought it and he went onto the breakfast show to speak about it and it’s not true.”

Mbau also added that it’s not the first time her younger brother lies.

“It’s not the first time he is pulling a stunt like this and we have warned him but he will learn and eventually grow to know you can’t lie about something like this,” Khanyi Mbau added.

Two weeks ago, Lasizwe took to social media where he announced that he bought a new house in Sandton. The YouTube sensation was recently interviewed by Fresh Breakfast Show team on Metro FM where he talked about his road to success and details about his new Sandton house.

Major League’s Bandile Mbere says he was there to support his girlfriend Nadia Nakai who recently received social media hate after her no-make up image went viral.

Speaking to Metro FM‘s Mo Flava and Masechaba Ndlovu, Bandile said “she was very upset. I was trying to be there for her all the time. ( I even) skipped work sometimes to be there by her side. (I told her) things are going to be okay. (You know,) go to movies, take her out, make her forget what is going on on Twitter.”

He said he told her not to worry about the hate because it often came from people who were jealous of her.

“I have been through a time when social media also came and attacked me. I always tell her that she mustn’t worry about what people say, at least she is making money. She’s blowing up. She’s doing very well. Her song is doing very well. The attention is on her and people will try to bring her down. Unfortunately, it will be girls because probably those girls’ men are talking about her.”

Gigi Lamayne dating DJ Citi Lyts

Genesis Gabriella Tina Manney, also known as simply Gigi Lamayne is rumoured to have found love. According to a Sunday Sun article, the newly-signed Ambitiouz Entertainment artist is reportedly dating DJ Citi Lyts (real name Sandile Mkhize).

The paper alleges that the pair started dating in December and had even moved in together.

According to some insiders, Gigi and Citi were single when they met. They started dating, but things became serious when Gigi was working on the Isaga Lam song by Miss Pru.

The informant said Gigi was so happy with her relationship that it was even influencing her lyrics. Another source said Citi spoiled Gigi and supported everything she did.

“He showers her with flowers, is present when she performs and helps with the Gigi Lamayne foundation,” the source said.
